March 4-7th send your well wishes and good dance vibes to your fellow dancers competing at the 2010 Vegas Showdown Dancesport Competition. Held every year at the Las Vegas Hilton Convention Center, the Vegas Showdown offers dancers of every age and ability level to perform, challenge themselves, and enjoy the rush of competition. Vegas Showdown is part of the Global Spectrum competition, which holds events throughout the year in varies locations around the nation.
Just having the opportunity to dance is exciting, but being recalled or placing in events heightens the thrill. Marcia Alexander, Steve Anderson, and Mary Jane Jones have put a tremendous amount of time and energy into improving their skills and hoping to receive top honors in their divisions. Regardless of what the judges see or miss, we are so proud of their efforts. As your teachers and partners it our pleasure to dance with you. Let’s go kill it!

Help to Haiti

We held our Kick-off Sunday Night Class & Dance on Jan. 10th, 2010 inviting our fellow dancers and students to attend for free, or make a donation which would later be given to a local deserving charity. We were still looking for that charity when we discovered during the week prior to the 24th class that Emmanuel Pierre-Antoine, finalist in American Rhythm Championships, had been personally touched by the tragedy. Haitian born, Emmanuel came to the US to dance. You may remember watching him win the Dance Houston Professional Open Rhythm division last year with his partner. To honor the memory of those he lost, we decided to donate the proceeds of our Kick-off event to the Red Cross Haitian Relief in his name. It wasn’t much, but we encourage all to give what they can.
